OUR
SERVICES

At our Veterinary Hospital you’ll be fully supported with sound advice from our qualified vets and vet nurses. We know that helping our clients starts with providing a good understanding of health care issues and treatment options. With good advice and professional recommendations, you’ll be well equipped to make the best ongoing health care decisions for your pet.

With fully equipped examination rooms, diagnostic machines and pharmaceutical stores we provide on-the-spot assistance for nearly all pet health and medical needs.

Take a moment to meet our team and our own pets. We look forward to seeing you and your pet again at the next scheduled visit.

WELLNESS

Regular health checks are important to identify and prevent health issues before they become a serious problem.

Generally pets need a health check once a year; however older pets, pets with chronic conditions, of those with ongoing medication may need more regular checks every 3-6 months. Of course accidents and illness can occur at any time and we are more than happy to address  these issues as they come up.

MICROCHIPPING

Microchips are an important form of identification for your pet. If your pet goes missing or is stolen, their microchip allows authorities to contact you as the owner.

It is important for you to update your pets microchip information regularly to ensure you can be easily contacted.

SURGERY

Northern Districts Vets offers a wide range of routine surgical procedures including desexing, lump removals, soft tissue surgery, and abdominal surgery.

We also have a strong relationship with specialist surgeons through Northside Veterinary Specialists (NVS) who can perform more complex surgeries in-house.

EMERGENCY CARE

Accidents and emergencies can happen at any time. If you have an emergency during our operating hours please bring your pet straight down to us. If you are able to call us while on your way, allowing us to get ready to help you in the best way.

For emergencies outside our normal operating hours please call Northside Emergency Veterinary Services on

9452-2933 or go directly there -16 Myoora Road, Terrey Hills

DENTAL CARE

Periodontal disease is one of  the most common disease seen in our pets today.

80% of dogs and 70% of cats over the age of 3 are affected.

Left untreated, dental disease can cause pain and discomfort as well as secondary health issues such as heart, kidney or joint  disease. Preventative treatments include teeth brushing, specific dental diets, and dental chews; however ultimately most pets require a full scale and polish every couple of years.

BLOOD TESTS

Comprehensive blood testing is available  in-house. Blood tests can help assess your pet for health issues including diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, pancreatitis and hormonal disorders. It also allows us to perform pre-anaesthetic blood tests before they undergo general anaesthesia.

Our in-house facilities mean results are available within minutes to ensure your pet can receive the appropriate care.

X_RAYS & ULTRASOUND

Northern District Vets offers both radiography (X-ray) and ultrasonography in-house.

These diagnostic tools help us to identify exactly what is going on with your pet and guide their treatment options and management plan.

VACCINATIONS

Vaccinations are an important part of preventative health care for your pet.

LASER THERAPY

We offer PBMT Laser Therapy with a class 4 laser. This is a quick, painless and non invasive treatment. It can be used along with or instead of medications to manage inflammation, pain and wound healing. It is particularly used for pets with limited medical treatment options.

BOARDING

We offer cat boarding all year round. You can feel content in the knowledge your pet is receiving the best care and attention while you're away.
